The rest of this page is the same thing said carefully.
MSF Bench is a roster planning tool for the game MARVEL Strike Force, run by Charlay Consulting Inc. This policy covers the site at msfbench.com and nothing else.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Scopely, Marvel, or The Walt Disney Company. Game data comes from Scopely’s public developer API, and MARVEL Strike Force and all character names and imagery are their respective owners’ property.
| What | Why we have it |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To create your account, sign you in, and contact you if something goes wrong with it. We do not send marketing email. |
| Your roster | Which characters you own and their star, gear and Iso-8 levels — either imported by you or, if you connect your account, read from Scopely’s API. This is what the planner works on. |
| Your ratings | Scores you give characters and squads, and any prices or notes you record. Used to build the community averages and to personalise your own rankings. |
| Basic technical data | Standard server logs kept briefly for security and debugging — IP address, browser, pages requested. |
The site keeps a copy of your roster in your browser’s local storage so it loads quickly and keeps working if the connection drops. That copy never leaves your device except when it syncs to your account. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Your Scopely password. We never ask for it, we could not use it if you sent it, and there is no field anywhere on this site that would accept it. If you connect your game account you do so through Scopely’s own authorisation, and we only ever receive a token that lets us read your roster. Anyone asking you for your Scopely password while claiming to be us is not us.
We also do not collect payment details. Donations are not set up yet. If they ever are, they will run entirely on a third-party payment provider named here at the time, and we will never see or store your card details.
Only to run the site: to show you your roster, rank your build order, and calculate the community averages. Specifically, we do not:
Several of these are our own choice. Others are required of us by Scopely’s API Terms, which prohibit using their data for marketing or monetisation. Either way they hold.
When you rate a character or squad, that rating becomes part of a public average shown to everyone. Individual ratings are never published, never attributed to you, and never shown to another user. We display the average, the number of ratings behind it, and how much raters disagreed.
Ratings may be weighted by whether you own the character and how far you have developed them, because somebody who has actually built a character tends to know more about them. That weighting uses your roster and is never shown to anyone else.
Nobody buys it and nobody receives it for their own purposes. We use these services to run the site, and they process data only on our instructions:
We will disclose data if the law genuinely requires it, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
Character stats, traits, team memberships and anything else drawn from the game come from Scopely’s developer API. That data is provided to you “as is”, without warranty of any kind, consistent with the disclaimers in Scopely’s API Terms of Use. It can be wrong, it can be out of date, and it can change without notice.
Everything the planner concludes from it — build orders, rankings, readiness — is an opinion derived from that data plus our own scoring, not a statement of fact about the game. Do not treat it as authoritative.
If Scopely asks us to stop using their data, or ends our access, we will delete every copy of it we hold. That may mean parts of this site stop working.
One honest caveat about deletion. Ratings you have already contributed stay in the community averages, because they were never linked to you publicly and removing them would silently change scores other people rely on. They are unlinked from your account and cannot be traced back to you. If you would rather they were removed entirely, say so when you ask us to delete and we will do it.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. Email us and we will help.
Your account data stays until you delete it. Server logs are kept for 30 days and then discarded. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days, including from backups.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to what running the site requires, and your data is readable only by your own account. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
If data is ever accessed or disclosed without authorisation, we will notify Scopely within 24 hours as their terms require, notify affected users promptly, and tell you plainly what happened and what to do about it.
We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and browser storage to cache your roster. That is all. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics that follow you elsewhere. If we ever add usage analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting service that does not track individuals, and this page will say so before it goes live.
This site is not directed at children under 13, or under the higher minimum age that applies where they live, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we will say so on the site and update the date at the top before the change takes effect. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
